The limited liability consortium SORRISO (SORRISO s.c.a r.l.) was founded in 2013 as the result of long-lasting scientific, commercial and industrial relationships. It fulfills the requirements of the European Union (EU) regarding the constitution of stable public-private aggregation to increase the competitiveness of enterprises.

The main interests of SORRISO focus on the development and dissemination of innovative and sustainable bio-nanotechnologies applied to human health and agri-food.

SORRISO s.c.a r.l. was constituted to create a stable link between academic bodies, public research centers and enterprises. This network guarantees the high-technology standards needed to achieve the innovation necessary in the near future. Public-private collaboration plays a key role in driving the scientific and technological changes required to accomplish the innovation and development challenges identified by national and European policies.


The strategic objectives of SORRISO s.c.a r.l. are defined as follows:

Development of coordinated and/or joint strategies for networking promotion, technology transfer and internationalization in order to take advantage of the skills and expertise of the SORRISO partners;
Planning and implementation of joint action to programme and manage European Union funding, according to the Horizon 2020 guidelines;
Promotion of collaboration between research, enterprise and business by endorsing technology transfer- and scientific dissemination-based strategies;
Drafting and setting up of a high-quality research plan to be applied both at the national and international level;
